Somatic Expressive Writing

Through writing prompts, we embark on a journey of curiosity and self-discovery.

A Sacred Writing Practice

Somatic Expressive Writing is a gentle, body-aware practice that invites inspiration, healing, and self-expression to emerge from within.

This work can be experienced one-on-one or within a Sacred Expression Writing Circle — an intimate, attuned gathering that supports truth-telling, embodiment, and connection through the written word.

We follow intuition where it leads.

We give voice to what has been held — pains and longings, hopes and sorrows, dreams, joy, vulnerability, and truth.

We allow insight to arise naturally, without force or performance.

This is not about writing “well.”

It is about writing honestly — from the body, the heart, and lived experience.

Ways to Experience This Work

One-on-One Sessions

Personalized, paced support that meets you exactly where you are, allowing writing to become a private, attuned space for regulation, integration, and expression.

A Sacred Expression Writing Circle

A small group experience grounded in presence, conscious listening, and compassionate witnessing. Sharing is always invitational and met with heart-centered reflection, encouragement, and respect — cultivating meaningful connection and sisterhood. See more below.

This Work May Be Supportive If You’re Longing To:

  • Express yourself more freely

  • Experience a sense of inner liberation

  • Access inspiration and creative flow

  • Reconnect with your creative voice

  • Find a gentle place to begin

The Experience

Whether in individual sessions or group circles, this work is grounded in presence, attunement, and nervous system safety. Writing becomes a somatic practice — allowing what has been held internally to move, soften, and find expression.

Somatic Expressive Writing invites the nervous system to settle, the body to speak, and truth to emerge through the written word — without analysis, fixing, or pressure.

This Work Over Time

Somatic Expressive Writing can be experienced as a stand-alone practice or woven into longer-term Regulated Living™ containers. Over time, it supports emotional integration, nervous system regulation, and a deeper relationship with one’s inner voice.

Writing Yourself Home

A Six-Week Somatic Expressive Writing Journey : Next circle Beginning October 18th

There are parts of our lives that we understand through thinking.

And there are other parts that ask us to slow down, listen, and allow something deeper to find its way into expression.

Writing Yourself Home is a six-week intimate Somatic Expressive Writing journey—a space to explore the stories, feelings, memories, longings, and pieces of ourselves that may not always have had language.

Through somatic awareness, carefully chosen doorways into reflection, and guided expressive writing, we allow the body and the page to become places of discovery.

This is not about being a writer.

It is not about creating something polished, beautiful, or even coherent.

  • It is about giving yourself permission to listen.

  • To notice.

  • To follow what arises.

  • And an invitation to meet parts of yourself in ways you haven't before.

Over Our Six Weeks Together

Each gathering will offer a different doorway into your inner world. Through imagery, music, poetry, story, somatic practices, and other forms of creative reflection, you will be invited to notice what resonates within you and allow your writing to emerge from there.

There will be spacious time to write, opportunities to share, and the experience of being compassionately witnessed by others without critique, interpretation, or the need to explain.

Because this is a closed circle, we will have the opportunity to build something together over the six weeks…a sense of familiarity, trust, and connection that allows the experience to unfold from one gathering into the next.

This Circle May Be Calling You If...

  • You are drawn to writing as a way of discovering more of yourself.

  • You long for a space to slow down and listen beneath the noise of everyday life.

  • You are curious about what your body, memories, imagination, and inner experience might have to say when you aren't trying to figure anything out.

  • You appreciate meaningful reflection and the experience of witnessing and being witnessed by others.

  • Or perhaps you simply feel there is something within you asking for a little more room to be expressed.

No writing experience is necessary.

There is nothing you need to prepare and nowhere you need to get to.

All that is requited is to bring yourself, a journal, something to write with, and a willingness to meet whatever finds its way onto the page.

The Language of Life

Here’s what clients have to say:

“My experience with Jude has been extraordinary. Jude's skill-set coupled with her depth of emotional understanding and compassion have enabled me to dive in deeply and gain insight, relief and expression through my writing. Writing has always been a useful and effective resource for me and sharing this space with Jude has significantly increased my potential for expressing myself, greatly supporting my healing process.”

— ES

“I am a writer and since getting diagnosed with mental illness five years ago- found it hard to write. This summer I felt hopeless and very stuck. I joined Jude’s writing group hoping it could help me and was hesitant, afraid to feel and process my pain. The writing each week was a balm to my pain and a sign of hope for my future, which I haven't felt in years. Jude is gentle, caring and radiates love and compassion with an open spirit. Participating in her group is an opportunity to bare your soul and find the deep spirit inside of you in a safe, loving and warm environment!”

— CH

“Jude has changed my life! I was going through a very dark time and I joined one of Jude’s writing groups. She has gently guided me to a place of understanding and self-discovery. Finding my voice through writing and sharing this magical journey with an incredible group of other women has helped me heal. Jude has been a shining light and has the compassion and knowledge to help anyone who is looking for a deeper and more exquisite perspective on living. I cannot thank Jude enough and highly recommend to experience a group with Jude!”

— EL

“It has been a real blessing to be able to take part in Jude’s writing group. Jude has a keen eye. She has a subtle and inspiring way of allowing self discovery to blossom. I also love how she introduces and strengthens conscious listening throughout the sharing of our writing!. I highly suggest Jude’s writing group for anyone seeking to explore their emotions and grow in their process.”
